Privacy Notice

HeyTeacher is operated in Malaysia and complies with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

What we collect

Parents: name, email, optional phone number, and payment records. Children: a first name or nickname, username, school level and subjects, learning activity (quiz results, books read) and conversations with the AI tutor. We do not collect children's email addresses, photos, or locations.

Why

To provide the learning service, show parents their child's progress, keep the service safe (including automated safety screening of tutor messages), process payments, and meet legal obligations.

Who sees it

You, your child, and — only if you join a teacher's class — that teacher sees your child's quiz results and progress (never tutor conversations). We use Cloudflare to host the service and run the AI models, and Billplz to process payments. We never sell data and never show ads.

Security

Passwords are salted and hashed; two-step verification is available for parents and required for teachers and administrators; all traffic is encrypted; suspicious activity is monitored and blocked.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your data. Delete from Settings → Delete my account. We complete erasure within 14 days; payment records are kept for 7 years as tax law requires.
